STRONGCO ACQUIRES THE TEREX SCRAPER AND RIGID TRUCK DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS FOR EASTERN CANADA

 Mississauga, Ontario – Thursday, March 2, 2000

Strongco Inc. today announced that their Strongco Equipment division in Eastern Canada has acquired the rights to distribute the Terex Scrapers and Rigid Trucks along with the Terex 4X4 Drive Rigid Truck.

Strongco currently distributes the complete line of Terex products in the Western Provinces of Canada.  “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Terex “ said Larry Pirnak, Strongco’s Chairman.  “This transaction is consistent with our strategy of acquiring equipment lines and companies which can be immediately combined within Strongco’s existing facilities and supported by its’ administrative infrastructure.  It is also in line with our objective of carrying the same key product lines in contiguous territories”.

Terex Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer based in Westport, Connecticut, is  involved in a broad range of construction and mining-related capital equipment operating in two segments – Terex Earthmoving and Terex Lifting.  Terex Earthmoving manufactures and sells heavy-duty off-road trucks, scrapers and high-capacity surface mining trucks.  In order to simplify the distribution of its Cedarapids products, Terex scrapers and the rigid truck sales up to 100 tons,  Terex has chosen Strongco to represent those products in Eastern Canada, except for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Strongco is one of the largest multi-line equipment distribution companies in North America.  Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Strongco sells, rents and services mobile equipment users in the construction, municipal, mining, forestry and industrial sectors of the economy from branch locations across Canada and in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
