SUMMARY:

The National Inventory Control Manager is responsible for inventory control, stock purchasing, consignment stock control, vendor stock returns, pricing and parts file management, gross margins and monthly reporting of KPIs to Management. This role provides support to the various business units in developing parts sales strategies as well as vendor relationship management. May develop or participate in the creation or modification of policies and procedures as well as implement them when required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inventory performance of parts;
  • Inventory Control: stock levels, adjustments & purchases;
  • Aged parts control;
  • OEM: company lead, set up and controls, distributions and reviews
  • Regional stock purchasing and transfers;
  • Maintain and improve availability over the counter performance (>83% OTC Stocked Parts);
  • Manage and coordinate Supersessions;
  • Management of RSL: recommended stock list;
  • Parts Marketing: aged/discontinued lines, used overview and liquidation;
  • Parts credit: national scope for returns;
  • RTQ Overview/payment of vendor returns;
  • Consignment inventory management including national accounts;
  • Responsible for the Cycle counting of all Regions and subsequent reporting;
  • Warehouse parameters for core returns/cycle counts;
  • Approvals of all Inventory adjustments >$500 cost value;
  • National Freight and Logistics programs;
  • Reviews customers applying for the Online Parts channel;
  • Support the Used Parts initiatives;
  • Monitors back orders as well as Open Purchase Orders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum five years of Heavy Equipment parts inventory experience;
  • Knowledge of warehousing systems;
  • Knowledge of vendor systems;
  • Knowledge of administrative practices;
  • General computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and experience with SAP preferred;
  • General financial knowledge;
  • May be required to travel up to 25%.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Post-secondary diploma and/or relevant work experience.
