Position Summary:

•Reports to the Regional Manager and Responsible for the management and/or supervision of the following functions

In House Service and repairs of machines and Equipment.

New and Used Equipment Prep.

Warranty Repairs.

Rental/Lease fleet maintenance and Repair.

Increasing revenues and customer satisfaction

Monitor, improve and manage service department efficiencies

Structure shop & field procedures to increase quality and reduce rework

Structure flow of service dispatch to ensure prompt response

Forecast and plan customer work and appropriate expenditures

Develop performance standards and mentor for success

Monitor and control labour utilization

Maintain customer relations and resolve conflicts

Strictly adhere to the Strongco Health & Safety policies and procedures

Environmental Compliance Regulations

Monitor fleet vehicles for safe operation and maintenance

Ensure WIP (work in progress) is kept accurate and within company objectives

Review all work orders prior to invoicing and ensure accuracy in billing

Review all technician time tickets, field assessments and drivers’ logs

Ensure constant communication between all departments, OEM’s and customers

Preparation of estimates as required, techline correspondence (Volvo communications) as required, and safety investigations

Conducting Tool Box Meetings.

Complete yearly performance reviews with all Service Staff.

Coaching Service Staff in Best Practices.

In-Shop Cleanliness, organization, and security.

Recruiting of Technicians and Service Support staff

Management and coordination of Service Training programs

Coordination of parts and supplies for Service Dept.

Attain and surpass budget objectives

Subordinates: Field Service Techs, Service Techs, Apprentices, Labourers.

Skills & Qualifications:

The Individual in this position should possess the following:

•A minimum of 5 years in a similar role in the heavy equipment industry is required.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Service Operations

Certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician (Provincial / Red Seal) is an asset.

Be personable, a problem solver, a leader of people, ethical, intelligent and able to adapt to all of the forces around them – customers, suppliers, department employees, co-workers and manufacturers employees.

This individual must be forward thinking and change driven, with a focus and Passion to grow the Service Business to New Levels.

Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft computer programs; outlook and excel, must have the ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
