Longtime Strongco customer, Bluebird Contracting, purchased two VOLVO excavators in 2006 – an EC330 and an EC460 – for its Alberta-based earthworks and demolition business. To-date these machines have recorded a combined 30,000 original hours combined – the highest of the entire Bluebird fleet – with zero critical component repair or replacement despite severe, heavy-duty applications. The high hours with no critical breakdowns is consistent with their Volvo fleet. Bluebird also owns two loaders with 27,000 (L120E) and 24,0000 (L150C) hours on them.
Bluebird Vice President Ken Kirk, pictured above in front of the 330 with Strongco’s Manager of Key Accounts, Dave MacLeod, is pleased with the quality, reliability and longevity his VOLVO excavators continue to provide to is equipment line. In fact, he can tell you about competitor products requiring major component repairs at only 8,000 hours, amounting to thousands of dollars – not to mention the cost of downtime.
Ken has counted on Strongco to service these machines, and has nothing but good things to say about the 24/7 parts and service capabilities, owner maintenance, and depth of experience provided by Dave and the team at Strongco. We know that this combination of quality product and exceptional service leads to more sales, and in 2015 Bluebird purchased 4 new hydraulic excavators, 1 large loader and 4 articulated rock trucks, significantly increasing the number of VOLVOs in their lineup.
"I’ve got 30,000 combined original hours on the 330 and 460 excavators. That’s unheard of in the industry"
~ Ken Kirk, Vice President, Bluebird Contracting
